Creating Your Own Peace

HOW DO YOU CREATE YOUR PEACE?

IS IT DAILY?

PERHAPS EVERY NOW AND THEN?

OR DO YOU THINK PEACE COMES WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND HAVE "GONE THROUGH IT ALL"?

Does peace come at the playground when you're sitting and watching your children play and having fun?

Is peace knowing your child is in a better place?

Is it solitude on your front porch?

In the Mountains - is that where peace can be found?

Can peace just be as simple has putting your feet up outside on a pretty day?

Suppose children can find their peace in making art......

Putting a puzzle together all by yourself?

Daily peace could definitely be found walking down a gorgeous path like this, wouldn't you say?

I remember my grandfather telling me that he finally found "his peace", and he was 83 years old. Please Lord, don't let me wait that long. My grandfather was a great man and I loved him dearly when I was young. He's been gone a long time, but telling me this is still in my heart today and something I will carrying on and try to find!!

PEACE - How do you create yours and how often? Is peace just a one time affair that you find at the end of your life.....(finally)?

  1. I LOVE this!! Don't we ALL need more peace in our lives? My only peace is on my phone or iPad in the wee hours at night- could definitely use some more at a better time of day!! Thanks Kiim! Something to think about..

  2. I find peace within my self--I delve into my own mind and clear it as best I can--close my eyes-I can be most anywhere--a couple of deep breathes and remember beautiful scenes or running in fields with my dogs or cuddling with my cats.

  5. Pease for me is walking through a place I've never walked through before with beautiful trees and a great view of something. Just walking and reflecting on life and then sitting to enjoy the view...

That's my peace.Wonderful blog post. Made me really think.

  6. What a beautiful post! Peace for me is in the early morning when everyone is sleeping. That is when I read or meditate. Once our family is up the peaceful quiet is hard to find.

  7. Great post!! My peace is a quiet house after the kids go to bed and are actually sleeping and I can sit down and breathe. There is usually a 10-15 minute window there where I do nothing but sit in the quiet. One day I am going to own a house in the mountains or the country with a big porch and I am going to sit outside and listen to the crickets, breathing in the fresh air and watching the stars twinkle at me. That's peace to me.

  8. PEACE... a different meaning to each of us. I hope that I too find my peace before I am too old to enjoy it!

  9. I'm doing a bible study (crossroads.net/dwell) and this is similar to our topic for the week. Our challenge this week is to spend time with (dwell) with God. We looked at a bunch of different ways you can dwell with God and chose the one that we think works best for us. My top two were in nature and then in solitude in a simple place. My bedroom doesn't have as much chaos in it (it's better for sleep) and so I've noticed sometimes when I want to just pray, even during the day, I go in and lay on my bed. It helps me focus. Being with God is my peace.

  11. Thanks for this post Kim! I have been so busy for weeks that I haven't stopped to find my peace. I typically find my peace just before bed. I'm typically the last one up and those few minutes before turning in is my time to reflect.
